The Six Day War, the West Bank and Gaza, fairy tales and the media

The failure of editors of newspapers allegedly impartial respected and to correct any inaccuracies in the press articles on the West Bank and Gaza before its publication, the refusal to give total credit to all Arab rights Jews in these regions - and also seriously misleading and misinforming the readers of their confidence about the nature of conflict is taking place.

Letters Writing to request corrections tend to be sacked and even if it is printed, it is too late to repair the damage - allows greater distortion of facts to be perpetuated and often repeated by journalists themselves and others.

Consider these five stones (and there are many others) in the article by Mr. O'Loughlin to:

1. "Born in the New Jersey is one of hundreds of Jews who live under heavy military protection to the first and the most extreme of all Jewish settlements in the West Bank, carved in the historic center of Hebron Palestinian city. "

The author does not mention that "the historic center of the Palestinian city of Hebron" is amended to include the former Hebron Jewish neighborhood built on land purchased by Jews in 1540.

Jews lived there until August 24, 1929, when 67 men, women and Jewish children were killed by an angry crowd of Arabs. The rest of the Jewish population of 750 had been forced flee. Some returned in 1931 but were forced to leave when the Arabs revolted again in 1936. Jews returned to the Jewish Quarter after the Six Day War in a very hostile welcome Arab residents.

Hebron contains the traditional burial site of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah - one of the holiest sites of Judaism - the records of the Bible was purchased by Abraham in 1753BC.

Hebron is much more than just a Palestinian city. It has a lot more Jewish history - the one great religious significance for Jews.

Any which editor worthy of the name should have taken steps to remedy this author statement.

2. "Of all the captured territories by Israel in the Six Day War, the Sinai Peninsula was returned to its former owner, Egypt, Thanks for the Camp David 1978 the then U.S. President Jimmy Carter. "

The conclusion is that the Sinai Peninsula is only a small part of all territories conquered by Israel.

In fact, the Sinai Peninsula consists of 90% of all territories seized by Israel. He was returned Egypt as part of the historic Treaty Peace between Israel and Egypt, with the Alma oil field discovered and developed by Israel and there would be worth 100 billion dollars, as well as strategic airfields and military installations built by Israel early warning. 7,000 Jewish were expelled from the Sinai Peninsula as part of the agreement.

Describing Palestinians as "indigenous" is very wrong.

Did not the Jews the right of the League of Nations mandate under Palestine to "rebuild" his country earlier in the same areas after 2000 years of dispersal throughout the world. This right has not been preserved until today by Article 80 of the Charter of the United Nations?

Who are indigenous peoples, then - the descendants of Jews expelled from the country 2000 years ago or the descendants Arabs who occupied it by conquest seven centuries later?

Mr O'Loughlin's use of the word "Aboriginal" is inflammatory criticism without relevance to the context and should be just editing.

4. "Gaza airspace, access to sea and border crossings are under strict Israeli military control ... "

The Rafah crossing is under the control of Egypt - And not Israel.

Why let this misrepresentation?

5. "The Six Day War might have appeared to be a decisive victory for Israel, but the results never became a viable political agreement for peace "

Do not treat Israel peace with Egypt (1979) and Jordan (1994) peace agreements workable policy?

If Mr. O'Loughlin argues that this statement applies only to the West Bank and Gaza, while he should have indicated clearly in his article. But it could create a little problem for him.

Both Gaza and the West Bank was occupied continuously by Egypt and Jordan, respectively, from 1948 to 1967. Not a single Jew lived there during that time - although many were driven by six Arab army in the war of 1948.

The Arab League could create an Arab state in the areas under a hat at any time during those 19 years. What they are now asking the Arab peace initiative of the League has been to create up to 1967.

Israel is now under pressure to make this happen 40 years later and remove 450,000 Jews who since 1967 has gone to the West Bank - an area that is their ancestral homeland and has been designated internationally sanctioned for the Jewish homeland.

Perhaps Mr O'Loughlin should use its privileged access to these journals the prestige of the canvas why another Arab state in the West Bank and Gaza is now considered necessary, why all Jews should leave and how this will end the conflict between Jews and Arabs.

He could only give publishers an opportunity to rectify the damage caused to the reputation of its documents, allowing the publication of this article in its current form.

Fairy tales are not a substitute for the truth and accuracy - especially when it is a Jewish-Arab conflict.
